Key Results
After one year of use, the unplanned pregnancy rate was 14.4 per cent and the total dropout rate was 37.6 per cent by life table analysis.

Conclusion
Because of their personnel characteristics, NFP clients would be more likely to go to personal physicians for family planning, but will come to a clinic when NFP is not offered elsewhere. These clients are likely to have had experience with other methods of family planning and are looking for alternatives. The unplanned pregnancy rate and the dropout rate reported compare favorably with rates of other NFP studies done in the United States.
