Melissa Buchan, RN, BSN, NBC-HWC, is the owner of Virtus Fertility Care, where she founded and directs the Chart Your Cycle program, supporting women and couples in using fertility awareness-based methods for health assessment, infertility evaluation, and restorative reproductive care. She also serves as Programs Director for NeoFertility Training, where she helps equip clinicians with practical education, clinical resources, and implementation support for restorative reproductive medicine. With a background in nursing, health coaching, and fertility education, Melissa is passionate about strengthening collaboration between FABM educators and clinicians so that cycle charting can become a meaningful bridge between women’s lived experiences, individualized health assessment, and effective clinical care.
Alison Ermisch is the Education Programs Manager at FACTS About Fertility. Alison holds a PhD in reproductive physiology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her doctoral research focused on molecular mechanisms of oocyte metabolism and ovarian physiology. She has presented her research at several national and international scientific conferences. Alison served on the board of directors for the Society for the Study of Reproduction, and she currently serves on the board for the Center for Bioethics and Culture, where she is also a Paul Ramsey Institute fellow in bioethics. She is passionate about integrating her scientific background with education, training, and research in fertility awareness and reproductive medicine to better promote women’s health.
Dr. Craig Turczynski is a Reproductive Physiologist, with expertise in fertility awareness methods and restorative reproductive medicine, especially andrology, a branch of science related to men’s fertility. Dr. Turczynski holds a PhD in Physiology of Reproduction from Texas A&M University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the Women’s Research Institute in Wichita, KS. After completing his doctorate and post-doctorate training, Dr. Turczynski directed the in-vitro fertilization, andrology, and hormone assay laboratories at Louisiana State University Medical Center-Shreveport where he also served as Assistant Professor of ObGyn and Embryologist. Dr. Turczynski holds a certification in healthcare ethics from the National Catholic Bioethics Center and completed a fellowship in restorative reproductive medicine with Dr Phil Boyle, founder of NeoFertility in Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Turczynski consults nationally on semen analysis and male infertility evaluation from a Catholic perspective.
Currently, Dr Turczynski serves as the Clinical Andrologist for RRM Diagnostics in Dallas and provides male fertility coaching services on the My Catholic Doctor and Pearl Health Dallas telehealth platforms.
Dr. Ashley Womack is a Board-Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and Parkland Hospital. During medical school, she became a NaProTechnology Medical Consultant after an intensive course through the St. Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. She then completed her 4-year Obstetrics & Gynecology (ObGyn) residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical and Seton Hospital. In addition, Dr. Womack further advanced her training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) by completing an extra 2-year fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. This fellowship gave her subspecialized training in treating advanced gynecologic diseases. She gained extra skills in minimally invasive surgeries including restorative reproductive surgeries that treat endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, cervical insufficiency, infertility, and more.
Dr. Joseph B. Davis D.O. FACOG is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist. He serves as the FACTS about Fertility FIRM Fellowship director. For over 15 years, Dr. Davis has worked in the infertility field and is globally recognized in his field for his clinical success as well as his role in developing ethics guidelines for the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the World Health Organization (WHO). A trained restorative reproductive surgeon, Dr. Davis is the founder of Palm Integrative Fertility, a private practice in Orlando, Florida treating couples with an integrative and holistic approach as well as restoring fertility through surgery.
The AAFP has reviewed Fertility Awareness Based Methods for Family Planning and Restorative Reproductive Healthcare, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 12/15/2025 to 12/15/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Each part of the course is valued up to 16 AAFP-approved CME credits, with the full 13-part CME course valued up to 160 credits. For each part, credit is earned for successful completion of the knowledge assessments with a score of 75% or higher and participation in the live case study discussions.
AAFP-approved credit is accepted by the following organizations (source: AAFP website). Please contact them directly about how you should report the credit you earned.
Even if your professional certifying body is not listed above, you should still contact them directly to see if they have a process for you to claim your AAFP-approved CME credit. On many occasions, they may be willing to work with you so that you can get the necessary credit. We will also work with you as needed to help you accurately report your CME credit. For internal medicine physicians, please note that the ABIM currently does not accept the CME course for ABIM MOC. However, we welcome all to enroll in the course as it does contain relevant and useful information for any practice.
AAFP prescribed credit is also accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
