Physician, Heal Thyself: An Interview with a NaPro Physician
This unique interview with a physician trained in both the Creighton Model and FEMM brings to light the impact fertility awareness-based methods (FABMs) can have on someone’s life, both personally and professionally. Nicholas Burstein, a fourth-year medical student, interviewed the physician while enrolled in Part B of the FACTS two-week online elective, ‘Fertility Awareness for Women’s Health.’ As more students continue to enroll in the FACTS electives, we feel honored to meet their educational needs during the pandemic and overjoyed to know this experience will impact their entire careers.
FACTS Speaker Feature: Lisa Jurski, PT
In 2013, FACTS began to train speakers to provide the presentations we created to share the science of fertility awareness-based methods (FABMs) with medical professionals, students, and the public. Beginning in 2020, we have featured a FACTS-trained speaker monthly to highlight the diversity and expertise of our talented pool of presenters. Our series continues with Lisa Jurski, PT, a physical therapist and Creighton Model FertilityCare practitioner. We are grateful for her support and contributions to the success of our webinar and speaker programs.

Naltrexone in Weight Loss-Related Amenorrhea: A Review of Research
This week’s post reviews research published twenty-five years ago in Fertility and Sterility titled, “Naltrexone treatment restores menstrual cycles in patients with weight loss-related amenorrhea,” and highlights the impact of naltrexone on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and the possible association between the menstrual cycle and body weight. Dr. Maggie Musso summarized the research as a fourth-year medical student during the FACTS Elective offered through Georgetown University School of Medicine.
FACTS Speaker Feature: Kate Heimann, DO
In 2020, we have featured a FACTS-trained speaker monthly to highlight the diversity, depth of knowledge, and expertise of our talented pool of speakers.
